With responsibility for Motto Motto's brand & marketing, franchising and supply chain functions, he was appointed to assist the Managing Director with the brand's strategy and ambitious growth plans: "Ex-Huxtaburger chief Matt Fickling is on a mission to shake up Australia’s ramen game"
Matt joined Huxtaburger in 2015 and during his tenure as CEO saw him spearhead a strategic plan, lead a re-brand of the burger business, develop a fit for purpose franchising framework, create a national supply chain, build an executive team and expand the brand into two new markets across Australia.
Within six months of joining Motto Motto, the group created an at home Japanese meal brand, Kyoto At Home to boost revenue and meet a gap in the market amid the COVID-19 crisis. Matt's responsibilities were extended at Motto Motto Group to lead Kyoto's brand, digital and e-commerce functions as he became the group's Chief Commercial Officer. In 2019 Matt worked contractually with Australasia's leading and recently awarded 'best global franchise consultancy', DC Strategy.
Matt creates collaborative high performing teams. His executive leadership experience at Huxtaburger includes managing a Chief Operating Officer, Head of Brand & Marketing, Financial Controller, Head of Supply Chain, Administration & Systems Manager & team of almost 400 people. At Motto Motto Group Matt leads a Marketing Manager, National Supply Chain Manager and Franchise Development Officer.
Matt has been involved as a franchisee in a family business and has pioneered both Huxtaburger's & Motto Motto's franchise journey that spurred their national growth. Matt transformed the business model to be franchise ready with franchise & legal documentation, operations manuals, franchise recruitment framework and commercial policies
